i really hope this becomes the new trend

it is utterly amazing

in the past i have made a few attempts to be a juicer

problem one our first juicer was a monster - not the easiest thing to whip out in the morning

hurdle two justin was afraid i would juice a finger - so he became the designated juice man

three - honestly, i lacked the motivation

things have changed, i am totally a juice addict now

you see, healing naturally is very important to me - i have never spoken about this on my blog before

truth is - 3 years ago i was diagnosed with a chronic illness; upper crohns

yep - no cure, medicine for life, and they have no idea what causes it

wow- i must have put on my big girl pants to have shared that, it is not easy for me to admit that i have crohns. for a long time i was in denial & that denial landed me in the hospital for 7 days

there is a lot of support that juicing heals the body and a raw diet is ideal for those with this illness

so i am giving it a try; a holistic approach

okay. so enough about that - lets talk about this amazing juice

by far this is my favorite comboloads of fruit and veggiesit is my new favorite way to start the day

back in the day i would have laughed if you told me i would become a lean mean juice master machine

kale? who drinks kale

come to find out loads of people and it is awesome

this juice gives me energy unlike anything else that lasts well into early afternoon

if you can it is best to drink your juice on an empty stomach - first thing in the morning is best

i also juice in the afternoon, about an hour before heading to the gym

are you wondering about the name

oh yeah that

it is Swahili for green

no, i am not a secret swahili princess

green juice sounded boring - kijani, is well, just fun

if you are not convinced that juicing is absolutely the best thing for you and your bodytake an hour out of your day and watch fat, sick & nearly deadit may change your mind about the power of juicing 

kijani juice

2 servings

you will need:

1 asian pear

2 small apples

small bunch of kale - 3-4 leaves

1/2 cup broccoli

1/2 cup blueberries

assembly:

prep all veggies to your own juicer:

washed & cut if needed

juice all veggies in juicer

i prefer my juice straight from juicer; justin likes his with an ice cube
